THESE paragliders were having a ‘high old time’ in the skies over Marsden.

And the angle of the road sign may just be inviting passers-by to look up and see the spectacle above.

The fliers certainly didn’t have to worry about their speed as they hung around chatting to one another.

The picture was taken by Marsden photographer Stuart Vidler, who said: “They seemed to be having a great time, calling to each other as they were circling around Pule Side in Marsden.

“I love heights and work with a friend refurbishing old aircraft, which means I’ve had the chance to fly helicopters and light aircraft.

“I guess I was quite jealous of these paragliders.’’

Stuart works in quality management for Britannia Rescue in Huddersfield and is one of a group of photographers who live in the upper Colne Valley and had a book of photographs taken around Marsden published called Northern Moods.

It raised money for the Cuckoo’s Nest shop in the village, which supports charities and good causes in the area.
