COUNCIL funds are being offered to groups planning holiday activity programmes across Kirklees.

Funding is available for activity programmes during the school Christmas 2012-13 holidays, plus the half-term breaks in October 2012 and February 2013.

Kirklees Council’s Integrated Youth Support Service and Kirklees Early Intervention Grants have joined forces to allocate the money.

Groups in the voluntary and community sector are now being invited to apply for funding and provide winter holiday activities that are free.

Projects need to cover age ranges eight-12 and/or 13-19, but the age limit rises to 25 for disabled people.

Previous activities funded include cook and eat sessions for young people aged 13-19 at Chickenley Community Centre, Gilder Hall’s Got Talent for young people aged 8-12 in Mirfield and Roald Dahl-based theatre workshops for young learning disabled people aged 10-25.

Organisations can apply for funding up to noon on August 17.
