THE HUDDERSFIELD In Harmony raffle tickets are now on sale.

They can be bought for £1 each from the Examiner in Queen Street South.

Members of the six choirs and two brass bands taking part in the Huddersfield Town Hall concert to aid the tsunami victims will also be selling the tickets.

The concert, on February 27, is being sponsored by Leeds Road car dealership Richard Alexander Ltd.

And the raffle will be drawn the following day.

More than 100 top prizes - listed here - are on offer. Many have come from generous Examiner advertisers. Just over five weeks after the tsunami disaster, the overall toll stands between 156,000 and 178,000 across 11 nations, with an estimated 26,500 to 142,000 missing, most of whom are presumed dead.

Money is still desperately needed. For example, the UN said today 800,000 people will need some form of food assistance in Indonesia's Aceh province as it recovers from the devastating tsunami.

Claude Jibidar, the World Food Programme head in Aceh, said that the organisation was so far feeding some 340,000 people in Aceh, but that this figure was expected to rise as isolated villages are reached and the economic effects of the tsunami are felt.

This figure included those who may experience food shortages in the future, since they are not able to sell cash crops because of disruption in trade networks, or because their food stocks have been shared with refugees.
