THE funeral of murdered police officer Sharon Beshenivsky will take place on January 11, say police.

Mother-of-three Pc Beshenivsky, 38, was gunned down as she investigated a robbery at a travel agent's in Bradford city centre on November 18.

Her funeral will take place at Bradford Cathedral, West Yorkshire Police said.

The murdered officer's colleague Pc Teresa Milburn, 37, of Birstall, was seriously injured in the same incident.

Pc Beshenivsky left a husband, three children and two stepchildren. Her youngest child Lydia was celebrating her fourth birthday on the day she was shot.

A 24-year-old man was today appearing in court charged with the murder of Pc Beshenivsky.

Muzzaker Imtiaz Shah was appearing before Leeds Crown Court via a video link, charged with murder, the attempted murder of Pc Milburn, robbery and firearms offences.

Shah was arrested on December 12 in Newport, South Wales.

Police are continuing to search for Mustaf Jama, who is wanted for questioning in connection with the shooting of the two officers.

Jama, 25, is the last of three named suspects still on the run.

Jama's brother, Yusuf Jama, 19, has already appeared in court charged with murder and will face trial next year.
