FARMERS gathered at a conference to discuss the future of farming.

Over 100 delegates from across the South Pennines met at Uppermill Civic Hall, in Saddleworth.

Sir Donald Curry, government adviser for food and farming policy, spoke about the growth of the global population and the increase in the demand for food.

Young Holme Valley farmer Kelly Armitage addressed the conference on the work of young farmers and their quest to carry on the tradition of farming in the uplands.
