THE future of a Huddersfield radio station is in the balance after owners officially announced the business has gone into administration.

As revealed last week Pennine FM, formerly Home FM, suddenly went bust.

Staff were told only the day before that they would not have a job after Wednesday.

A handful of songs has been playing on a loop on the station frequency, 107.9 FM, since Thursday.

Industry watchdog Ofcom said discussions were continuing with the licensee about the future of the licence.

Leeds-based insolvency specialists Begbies Traynor is now looking after the company finances.

The company Pennine Radio Ltd, of Fitzwilliam Street, has no connection with Pennine FM.

Pennine Radio Ltd has traded for over 50 years and continues to do so.
