THE bendiest roads in Britain were named today.

And a report revealed that drivers are sometimes faced with the same G force as on a rollercoaster or racetrack.

A one-mile stretch of the B3081 between Cann Common in Dorset and Tollard Royal in Wiltshire came top of the bendy road league.

Research by Continental Tyres said driving at a steady 30mph on the road exerted the same lateral forces as a car would experience on a racetrack like Brands Hatch.

One stretch of the road is called Zig Zag Hill.

Many of the top 10 bendy roads were minor country roads, although in sixth place was the A157 in Lincolnshire, a county known for being flat.

The only Yorkshire road in the list is the B6270 between the villages of Keld and Reeth in North Yorkshire.
