A FATHER was inspired by his eight-year-old daughter to raise money for the West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust.

Management consultant Bill Knowles raised more than £1,300 after running his first half- marathon in Blackpool in April.

Bill, 49, of Lindley, decided to raise funds for the Trust after Gabriella returned home from Lindley Junior School, inspired by a visit to the school from the Trust.

Gabriella and brother Cameron, five, went along to support their dad during the race.

And Gabriella even donated £4 from her birthday money towards the total.

Bill, who was testing his fitness after a motor racing accident 18 months ago, enjoyed the race so much he has enrolled for his next race, the Great North Run in October.
