GALES and blustery rain hit Huddersfield today - and more bad weather is predicted for tonight.
The gales, reaching up to 70mph in some places, swept the country overnight.
West Yorkshire was said to have escaped without too much damage, but AA Roadwatch said some trees had fallen across roads in North Yorkshire.
A Press Association Weather Centre spokesman said: "It will stay quite un- settled over the weekend, especially in the North and West."
