Hosted by Brit Asia star Sukhi Bart, the concert is the first of its kind and will form part of a worldwide celebration of Bhangra, which combines Punjabi folk traditions with Western pop music.
The Town Hall extravaganza involves about 30 local dancers as well as live band Dhal with traditional Punjabi and Pakistani drumming.
They have been hard at work in rehearsals this week.
One of the organisers, Gemma Wilson, said: “There will be lots of glitz and glamour and we are all really looking forward to it. It should be a great night out.”
The event starts at 7pm and an hour later there will be a live links with bhangra performances in cities including Madrid, Mumbai, Singapore, Brisbane, Vancouver, Mexico City and New York.
Tickets cost between £5 and £15 and are available from Kirklees Booking Offices on 01484 223200 or 01924 324501 or online at www.kirklees.gov.uk/townhalls.
