THE first phase of the gallery development at Dewsbury Museum has begun.

The museum, in Crow Nest Park, Dewsbury, is planning to re-open in 2010 with new education facilities to attract new visitors.

The work includes lifts to allow visitors with mobility problems to access all floors.

During the closure of the museum there will be a school outreach programme so that the children can carry on using and enjoying the museum’s popular toys and technology and Second World War sessions. Crow Nest Park remains open to the public as normal.
