A teenager was attacked in his own home by a gang of burglars.

Now detectives in Kirklees are appealing for information following the burglary in Meltham.

It happened in the early hours of last Saturday morning but police have just released details.

The attack came in Copley Avenue between 4.30am and 6am when the victim, the 18-year-old male occupant of the property, answered the door.

When he opened the door, three unknown suspects, two men and a woman pushed past him. The victim was assaulted before personal items were stolen.

Det Con Simon Thomas of Huddersfield CID said; “The incident has taken place at the victim’s home, and clearly has been an upsetting experience.

“I would appeal to anyone who may have been in the area around Copley Avenue in the early hours of Saturday morning and may have seen the suspects to come forward.

“I would also appeal to anyone who may have any information about this incident to speak to the police. Enquiries are ongoing.”

Suspect one is described as a white male, around 18 years old, 6ft tall of slim build and wearing dark clothing.

Suspect two is described as a white male, around 18 years old, 6ft tall of slim build.

Suspect three is described as a white female, around 17 years old, 5ft 6” tall, of slim build with brown curly shoulder length hair and wearing a dark coloured puffa jacket.
