A NINE-YEAR-OLD boy was robbed by a gang during the bank holiday weekend.

The youngster was on his bike on Broomfield Road in Fixby on Sunday afternoon when he was approached by a group of four boys.

One asked him if he had a watch.

They then demanded his bike.

The boy was pushed off the bike and one of the gang rode off on it, followed by the others.

The victim was shaken but not hurt by the incident, which happened at about 3pm.

The boy who took the bike was described as black, aged about 11 or 12 years-old, about 5ft 1in tall and was wearing a blue jacket and a dark blue cap.

One of the others is mixed race, with fair skin and a mark on his cheek.

The other two boys were white.

One had black hair and was riding a bike.

The other was aged about 14 or 15 years-old and had spiked ginger hair.

The bike that was taken is a Storm mountain bike with a 21-inch frame.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
