A GANG attacked a man as he walked in Somerset Road, Almondbury.
The 24-year-old local man was walking near Foxglove Road about 10.40pm on Sunday when three youths asked him for cigarettes.
He refused and walked off but the gang followed and hit him in the face with a plastic pipe.
A second youth stole his wallet and mobile phone.
The man suffered minor facial injuries following the attack.
The youth who hit him was wearing a distinctive Karl Kani pale blue tracksuit and a white Nike headband.
He was a mixed race African Caribbean in his late teens, 5ft 8in tall and stocky and had a shaved head and spotty complexion.
The second was a white male in his late teens, about 6ft, slim and wearing a grey Eco hooded top.
The third youth was in his late teens, 6ft 2in and slim. He was wearing a blue hooded top and a baseball cap.
