A DISTINCTIVELY-dressed gang stole a teenager’s mobile phone as he sat reading a book.

The ringleader has an exceptionally spotty face.

The 18-year-old victim was in St Peter’s Gardens, next to Huddersfield Parish Church, at 11.30am yesterday when the five-strong teenage gang approached him.

Three surrounded him and demanded his phone while the other two kept watch.

The victim was punched several times by the robbers who took his phone.

All the youths are white and 16 or 17.

One has purple spots on his cheek and forehead. He has short brown hair and wore a grey hooded top covered in an orange rectangle pattern.

Another wore a hooded top featuring a blue, cream and brown jagged pattern.

The other three wore hooded tops.
