Morrisons supermarket is supporting voluntary service CSV Action Earth and is giving away grants to 900 voluntary groups.
Campaign supporter and Gardeners’ World presenter Toby Buckland said: “It’s all about working together to improve your local area.
“Planting trees and shrubs or creating community gardens are just a few of the things to get involved in which have an instant effect, and over time, grow in value to both wildlife and the community.”
Mark Harrison, store operations director at Morrisons, said they were looking for volunteers who want to make a difference to their community.
