THE stress-busters have moved in at Fartown High School.

Staff are being taught new massage and relaxation exercises.

And in turn, they plan to pass on the skills to girl students in year 11 in the hope it will help them through their GCSE exams.

The students start mock exams next month and the school has enlisted the help of massage experts Carol Matthews and Sue Timmins.

They were at Fartown to show staff the massage techniques and students will be given exercise lessons starting next week.

It is part of a Government-funded project to help school students nationwide.

Jackie Armitage, the school's co-ordinator for gifted students, said: "The experts came to us from the Claremont Support Service, run by Kirklees Education Authority.

"The idea is that massage and relaxation techniques can help students stay focused on their studies."
