She admits it’s the biggest challenge she has ever faced.

And although she admits she has more than a few nerves, Lepton singer Georgia Harrup is looking forward to tomorrow evening.

That’s when she’ll take to the stage of a huge London theatre to perform as one of 12 contestants in the live shows of the hit talent show The Voice.

Georgia, 27, can’t reveal what number she will be singing as part of the team picked by Sir Tom Jones.

But she said: “I can’t say what song it is but I can tell you it is very different to the stuff I normally do.

“I hope people like my version of a classic original.

The nerves are starting to kick in but at the same time it is very exciting.

“We have been hard at work with rehearsals in London and the set is amazing. I have never seen so many lights and lasers. It is easily the biggest thing I have ever done.

“It is fantastic to be involved and I am loving every minute of it”.

Georgia, who won through to the live shows last weekend with a version of the Bob Marley song Three Little Birds, is room-sharing with one of her rivals.

“I’m sharing with Iesher, who is on Will’s team, and we are having a great time. It is fun to be with the other contestants but obviously there is a lot of hard work involved.

Sir Tom has been there whenever I have needed to get some help or advice and he is a fantastic mentor.

“I’ve also had unbelievable support from people back in Huddersfield.

“My phone, my Twitter account and Facebook have been inundated with calls of support and it’s brilliant. I hope I can do them proud.

“I’d love to stay on in the contest as long as possible”.

Georgia will be backed in London by family and friends, including her boyfriend Craig Williams, who plays rugby for Underbank.

Georgia has been singing all her life, since she sang in church as a child.

The Voice is on BBC1 on Saturday at 6.45pm with the results show at 8.50pm.
