LIBRARIES across Kirklees are inviting people to put pen to paper for a creative writing competition. Contestants are asked to take their inspiration from best-selling Lion Boy, by Zizou Corder. Entrants can come up with a story, poem, rap or song. Three prizewinners will get places for themselves and their immediate family at a creative writing retreat with Zizou Corder at the Ted Hughes Arvon Centre, Lumb Bank, Heptonstall, from February 13-18. Runners-up will win £50 and £25 worth of books. The closing date for entries is Friday, January 6. Entries will be judged in three groups - primary school age, secondary school age and adult.
