RUGBY league stars are heading back to the classroom in Huddersfield.
Several Giants players visited the university’s careers service after expressing an interest in higher education.
Tracey Haughton, the Giants’ administrator, and 14 members of the Super League squad attended the advice surgery.
Tracey said, “A few of the players had approached me with regards to getting into further and higher education as they won’t be rugby players for ever.
“After speaking with the university’s director of marketing and communications, Jenny Grainger, we were invited to come with a group and speak to the careers service for advice.
“The players found it quite useful. The advisers offered a huge amount of information for them to look into.
“It was a very helpful session, and several of the players are now looking into courses at Huddersfield.”
Sue Spence, one of the university’s careers advisers, said, “It was a very successful afternoon. Several players have booked follow-up appointments for one-to-one guidance.’’
