AN 11-year-old girl was arrested after allegedly assaulting the head teacher of a Huddersfield high school.
The girl was questioned by officers at Huddersfield Police headquarters yesterday afternoon after an incident at Colne Valley High School. She was later released pending further inquiries.
The girl was interviewed about an alleged assault on Mrs Linda Wright and about damage to a classroom.
Her mother said the girl suffered from ADHD, which causes behavioural problems.
ADHD stands for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. It's thought to be caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain that affects the parts controlling attention, concentration and impulsiveness.
A spokesman for Kirklees Local Education Authority said: "Police were called to the school and the girl was taken from the premises. We want to do the best for the child and her needs."
