THE carer of three missing girls has herself vanished.

Amanda Jeffrey, aged 13, Isha Dawkins, nine, and Portia Dawkins, just two, disappeared from their Elland home at the end of last month.

Two days ago Calderdale Social Services staff realised that the children's 23-year-old and heavily pregnant carer, Eileen Dawkins, had also gone.

Halifax police's child protection officers believe the group may be in Huddersfield, Halifax or have travelled to London.

There is a chance they could try to leave the UK, say police.

Mrs Dawkins has lived under a number of aliases, including Eileen Rose Fill, Eileen Rose Lover and Eileen Barnes.

She is married to Vasal Dawkins and is the mother of Portia, stepmother of Isha and sister-in-law of Amanda.

Isha, also known as Lisa, has a brother and mother still living in Jamaica.

She is about 4ft tall and slim, with short hair and brown eyes.

Amanda is also known as Shannon. She is about 5ft 4in tall and has short, brown hair, which she sometimes wears in braids.

Little Portia has short hair and brown eyes. She was born in Huddersfield and is a talkative child, who chats readily with adults and enjoys attention.

A spokeswoman for Calderdale Social Services said relatives were desperate to hear the children were safe and well.

She added: "The family is experiencing an enormous amount of stress and the local authority is concerned for the wellbeing of Eileen and the children."

The girls have been made the subject of interim care orders.

That means that when they are found they will be taken into the care of social services.

Anyone with information about their whereabouts should phone Calderdale Social Services on 01422 393884 or 01422 365101 (after 5pm) or West Yorkshire Police on 01422 337059.
