GLAM rock band The Darkness have again hit out at Oasis - saying they are "on their way down".

Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher recently called the flamboyant rockers "inoffensive", adding "it doesn't do anything for me".

But the Spandex-clad lead singer of The Darkness, Justin Hawkins, has continued his war of words against the Manchester band.

The ex-Huddersfield student told Kerrang! magazine: "Noel Gallagher is an over-rated guitarist losing grip on his credibility who just has to fire shots on his way down. It's kind of a shame, really."

Hawkins recently used the Late Show with David Letterman in the USA to brand Oasis "too arrogant" to succeed in America.

Justin was in Huddersfield for three years from 1997, when he studied at the Technical College.
