GLITZ, glamour and good times were all on offer at a Huddersfield charity ball.

Guests who flocked to the Cedar Court Hotel, at Ainley Top, were greeted with a champagne reception, followed by a five-course meal, dancing and guest of honour Mr Randolph Victor.

Mr Victor, who is managing director of Bradford printing firm PRS, won the European Business Award in 2003.

The event was held to raise money for the Harriet Tubman Association.

The association is based at St John's Road in Huddersfield and offers help and respite care to people with disabilities and their families.

The ball also celebrated the association's 10th anniversary.

It was organised by Saturday Love Promotions, a Huddersfield group which organises fundraising events for local charities.

Ian Rufus, who runs the group from his Deighton home, said: "We organise about two events a year like this. We try to profile local organisations because a lot of people don't know what is on offer for them out there.

"I wanted to help Harriet Tubman Association because they supported my mother when she was ill. We hope to have raised about £500."
