LITTLE Annabelle Riley has started school.

And she loves joining her classmates at St Joseph's School, Hove Edge Brighouse, on her new tricycle.

Four-year-old Brighouse girl, who suffers from cerebral palsy, has got the new tricycle to help her about the school.

She also uses it at home, after her dad and his friends raised about £2,000 with a charity effort.

Dad Matthew and friends Dave Lloyd and Guy Brill tackled 24 Lakeland peaks in just 24 hours.

Sadly, their efforts were thwarted by horrendous weather, including strong winds and driving rain, and they managed just 14 peaks before having to call a halt.

But they still raised about £2,000 - and plan to have another go in the future.

Some of the money has been used to buy the tricycle for Annabelle, who has been spending days at the school, but starts full-time in two weeks. They also hope to use more funds to buy her a special wheelchair.

Mum Caroline said: "It was the most appalling day for Matthew and his friends and everything seemed to be against them.

"But they did well and raised a lot of money.

"Annabelle is delighted to be at school. She loves everything about it and is making lots of new friends."
