A MILK round was ruined yesterday morning after a blaze in a dairy farm storage unit.

Fire crews from Huddersfield were called to the blazing shed at around 12am.

The shed, on Pastures Way, Golcar, also stored firewood, which caught alight.

Crew Commander Howard Lewis said: “We believe the milk was destroyed and therefore could not be delivered the following morning.

“The shed was attached to a small refrigerated van, which is where the milk was kept.”

Crews spent nearly an hour at the scene.
