A TWO-day crime clamp- down in Golcar has ended with 14 arrests.

Officers from the Kirklees Neighbourhood Policing Team and community support officers swooped on the area targeting people suspected of burglaries, drug offences and anti-social behaviour.

By late last night they had made all the arrests for offences ranging from people wanted on warrant, for breaching Anti Social Behaviour Orders, theft and public order offences.

Seventeen vehicles were clamped at the roadside for having no tax and the drivers had to pay a £200 release fee and also tax them otherwise the vehicles were taken away.

Six vehicles were seized because their drivers had no insurance.

Fifteen vehicles were deemed to have potentially dangerous faults which needed repairing at the roadside before they were allowed to go on.

Insp David Glover said: "The two-day focus on Golcar has now finished, but we'll be back."
