A GOLCAR community centre has been hit by vandals for a third time in less than a month.

Police have stepped up patrols near Golcar Scout and Community Centre on Manor Road after fence panels were damaged at around 9pm last Friday.

Similar damage reports have been received from the centre, with gates and fence panels being damaged on June 7 and 13.

Pc Natalie Bailey, of the Valleys Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “The damage to the centre puts the safety of the children using the nursery at the community centre at risk and also means that the children cannot play out when the fencing has been damaged until it is repaired.

“I am therefore asking that local residents be vigilant and report any suspicious persons hanging around the Manor Road area to the Valleys NPT, at Holmfirth police station, via 101.”
