A COUPLE who ran Deighton Post Office for many years marked their golden wedding with a celebration for family and friends.
Trevor and Joan Spencer married at Almondbury Church.
They held their reception in the Ratcliffe Arms and had a honeymoon to Coniston in the Lake District.
The couple ran Deighton Post Office until Mr Spencer retired in 1999.
Prior to that, Mr Spencer worked at Huddersfield firm TW Broadbent Electrical Contractors as a domestic equipment sales manager while Mrs Spencer worked at the then Huddersfield Polytechnic.
Both are officials with Huddersfield Video and Cine Club where they have been members for more than 35 years.
Mr Spencer is the treasurer, while Mrs Spencer is the group secretary.
They have two sons, Andrew and Kevin, and four grandchildren, Thomas, Emma, Laura and Erica.
They held their anniversary party at Meltham Golf Club.
