MUSIC, food and family fun are the themes of this year’s Golcar Lily Day.

The popular community weekend is back for its third year.

Organisers say a variety of music will take place over the weekend with stalls and attractions throughout the village.

The centrepiece will be the food and beer tent on the vicarage lawn.

The much-loved Golcar Sing returns on Sunday.

Elaine Lonsdale, one of the organisers, said: “It has grown in success.

“This year we have so much more for people to come and see from music to all the stalls and art exhibitions.

“All the churches in the district will display art and many of the artists will be around to talk about their work.

“While there will be workshops for children to get involved with too – it’s a great day for all the family.”

The fun takes place on Saturday from 10am until 4pm throughout Golcar.

On Sunday the popular Golcar Sing returns and organisers are hoping the rain will stay away so it can take place outside on Manor Road School fields.

The Colne Valley museum will be baking a Golcar Lily Loaf.

People attending are asked to leave their cars away from the village and make use of a free minibus between the venues.
