HAPPY Wanderers David and Kath Greaves celebrated their golden wedding on Friday.
The couple, of Sowood Hill, Sowood, lead the Happy Wanderers walking group for the Huddersfield University of the Third Age and have many hobbies and interests including art, gardening, snooker and computing.
They met at a dance at Huddersfield Town Hall and married at Salendine Nook Baptist Church.
Mr Greaves, 72, worked as a maintenance engineer at Holset Engineering for 26 years and retired in 1998.
Mrs Greaves, also 72, had several jobs including a collecting agent for Scottish Legal Insurance. She also worked as a volunteer for Age Concern.
The couple have two sons and a grandson and granddaughter.
They celebrated with a family meal yesterday.
Mr Greaves is the youngest of three brothers, all of whom have celebrated their golden wedding anniversaries.
