A COUPLE who moved from Ireland to marry in Huddersfield are celebrating their golden wedding.

Angela and Joseph Boyle marked the occasion on Saturday with a celebration for their family.

The couple, who both came from Newcastle in County Down, Northern Ireland, wed at St Joseph’s Church in Aspley.

Mr Boyle, 73, moved to Huddersfield as his aunt lived in the town.

A few weeks later Mrs Boyle, 70, moved over and they married.

She wore a two-piece suit on the big day and they had a reception at the home of Mr Boyle’s aunt, Mrs Annie Roberts.

Mr Boyle worked at Thomas Broadbents and later David Brown Tractors.

While Mrs Boyle worked at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary in the domestic department and later worked at Co-op in Sheepridge for 22 years.

They have three children, Bernadette, Michael and Kevin and six grandchildren.

They will mark their anniversary with a family meal.(PW051009Cgld)
