KEEN golfers took a good swing at raising thousands for a Huddersfield charity.

An estimated 160 people took part in the golf charity fundraising day, which was held at Bradley Park Golf Club at the weekend.

The golfers competed in teams of four, teeing off from 8am to 2pm. The day ended with a presentation of prizes to the winning teams.

The event was expected to have raised thousands for the Dalton-based Kirkwood Hospice, which provides specialist care for people in Kirklees facing life-threatening illness.

The money raised will go towards patient care at the hospice.

Hospice fundraiser Kate Leadbeater said: “It’s the second year that we’ve held this event. It was very successful last year and it’s been even bigger this year.

“Everyone involved had a really good time and we will have raised thousands for the hospice.”
