THIEVES stole a 6ft-statue in two raids on a garden in Saddleworth.
Now the owner – who believes it might have ended up in Huddersfield – is offering a reward to get it back.
The cheeky thieves pinched the bust from the garden on Church Road, Friezland, on January 14.
And two days later they returned for the column. The statue is believed to be worth more than £1,000.
Owner Tony Littlewood, 59, said: “They knew what they were doing, but I can’t believe the nerve of them returning for the second bit they left behind. It’s beyond a joke.”
Mr Littlewood, a former pharmacist, bought the statue 12 years ago.
He caught the theft on CCTV and has handed the footage to police. It shows the thieves moving around the edge of the garden.
They may have used a wheeled bin to move the statue.
Mr Littlewood said: “I imagine it could easily have ended up over the Yorkshire border in Marsden.”
He is offering a £100 reward for information leading to the statue’s safe return.
