AN after-school club which faced closure two yers ago has received a glowing report from Government inspectors.

Bradley Out Of School Club was judged to have "good" provision by Ofsted inspectors who visited the club on Tuesday.

And they set no new conditions which the club had to meet before its next inspection.

Governors' chairwoman Val Mills said the report was a tribute to a team of qualified and permanent staff led by Pam Morgan and an active parents' committee.

The club, which is based at Bradley Infant and Nursery School and runs breakfast and after-school sessions, provides care for more than 30 families in a traditionally deprived area.

Children who go to the club are pupils at the infant school and Bradley Junior.

Parents who send their children to the club are either employed or undertaking education and training.

Ms Mills said: "We are a registered charity which is owned and managed by the parents' committee. Just over two years ago the club faced near closure, due to the co-ordinator leaving and there being no committee members."
