A GOOD Samaritan who helped a stabbing victim is being looked for by police.

The 24-year-old Huddersfield victim, who had been stabbed three times in the back, was taken to hospital by the Samaritan.

The victim was walking along Manchester Road at Longroyd Bridge between the Wickes DIY store and the traffic lights at the junction with Longroyd Lane when he was attacked from behind at 10pm on Thursday, November 30.

The attacker fled when a passerby shouted at him.

A passing motorist took the injured man to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

He was not badly hurt.

Police have appealed for the motorist and the man who yelled at the attacker to come forward.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the inquiry.
