GOVERNMENT minister Phil Woolas heads an immigration debate tonight at the University of Huddersfield.

It is being co-hosted with community group Social Capital.

Mr Woolas, Minister for Borders and Immigration, will be joined by Dr Andy Mycock, representing the University’s Academy for the Study of Britishness, and Tony Pearson of the trade union, Unison.

The debate will be chaired by Debbie Abrahams and will focus on issues relating to the impact of immigration on communities and issues relating to citizenship and identity.

The debate is open to the general public and begins at 6pm on Friday in the Castle Hill Suite.
