A TRAIN company operating services to London from Brighouse has received a thumbs up.

Figures released by watchdog body, Passenger Focus, show that 95% of Grand Central passengers were satisfied with the company’s services.

Grand Central runs a direct rail service linking Bradford and King’s Cross via Halifax, Brighouse and Wakefield.

The results come in the Passenger Focus autumn 2010 National Passenger Survey. The study puts Grand Central as the country’s second top-performing rail company, based on overall passenger satisfaction.

Among other train companies, East Coast, linking West Yorkshire with London and Edinburgh, achieved an 89% rating.

First TransPennine Express, running services through Huddersfield, got 87%, while Penistone line and trans-Pennine operator Northern Rail achieved 82%.

Wrexham & Shropshire was the country’s top rail operator on 96%.
