COMMUNITY groups helping to make Calderdale a happy place to live can now get a cash boost.
Calderdale Council’s small grants scheme is offering up to £3,000 for voluntary and community groups helping to make Calderdale a clean, safe, attractive and thriving place for residents, workers and visitors.
There is a focus on smaller groups and projects that help build stronger communities. The latest grants have been awarded to a range of projects, including bell ringing, gala events, an international music event, improvements at a community venue and allotment project.
Grants have also been awarded to a variety of groups, including support groups, dance clubs and bands, charities and voluntary groups and cultural and historical groups.
In total, there is £73,000 available. The application deadline is August 1.
Applications are judged by a panel made up of council members and representatives from voluntary and community groups.
Clr Amanda Byrne, community services portfolio holder, said: “These grants are a brilliant way of supporting the valuable work done by voluntary and community groups throughout Calderdale.”
