GREEN-FINGERED campaigners have won a £2,000 boost.

Yorkshire Water is giving the money to help the work of Batley-based Environment Concern.

The group is setting up a horticultural training centre for school-children and adults with learning or physical difficulties.

It will use the money to buy a dry composting toilet.

Fiona Moffat, Environment Concern's development manager, said: "Dry composting toilets are expensive and out of our financial reach.

"It's great that we can now not only provide facilities for our visitors, but ones which will help the environment by saving water.

"They will also give us compost for our plants and flowers."
