IT'S Green for go in Huddersfield!
Street theatre, musical entertainment, dancing in the street and a cyclists' roadshow will take place in Huddersfield when The Green hits town at the weekend.
Byram Street will be transformed into The Green - literally, by being turfed over on Friday night.
A temporary stage will be built for entertainment and there will be an arts and crafts street market over the weekend.
The Green - which was in Bridlington last week - is part of Yorkshire Forward's Festival of Place.
The festival explores the current use, and possible new uses, of public spaces and places.
The three-day event will run from Saturday, September 20, until Monday, September 22.
From 10am on Saturday there will be music from Opera North's internationally renowned Caf Band and haunting pan pipe melodies from South American pipe band Mezcla.
In the evening, there will be salsa dancing with drinks available at a street cafe.
From lunchtime on Sunday, the scene will be more traditional when Marsden Brass Band will accompany the street entertainers.
Then it's all change on Monday morning, when Byram Street becomes the arena for a cyclists' roadshow, promoting more eco-friendly transport solutions to mark European In Town Without Your Car Day.
Throughout the three-day event, parking for disabled people will be available in Wood Street.
Saturday: Street entertainment by: Real Macaws - New Orleans style walking street band; The Weathermen - zany duo who juggle, fire-eat and entertain; Moon de Loon- walkabout music and comedy.
On stage during the day: Opera North Caf Band - show tunes, standards, and light classics; Mezcla - South American pipe band.
On stage in the evening: Gator - jazz, funk and soul; Sirius B - Latino salsa band.
