He’s taking one of the biggest and most terrifying plunges of his life - and it’s all in aid of the kids.

Local child carer Brook Evans is planning a charity skydive to raise money for an outdoor play area for Greenfields Childcare, where he works.

The Dalton centre, which does not receive mainstream funding, provides pre-school childcare for local families.

But Brook, 26, says the centre is missing outdoor activities for the children, and now wants to raise £500 to build one.

“It would be amazing if the children had facilities to play outside”, said Brooke, of Thornton Lodge.

“When I was a child I was always outside in the fresh air, so I would love it if the children I work with had that same opportunity here at Greenfields.”

The child carer at the pre-school centre has previously attempted two sky dives in 2011 and 2013, raising an overall incredible £12,000 for the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.

But Brook says this attempt at defying gravity will be more personal, as it is in aid of the children he works with.

High flying junior nursery manager, Brook Evans is preparing to take a leap of faith by sky diving to raise funds for the Greenfield Family Centre at Dalton. Brook with some of the children he looks after at the nursery who are exited about his sky dive.

“I love skydiving. I just love the adrenaline buzz you get from it.

“I wanted to do a sponsored wingwalk, which is when you stand on the wing of a plane, but it was too dangerous and I wouldn’t have been able to get insurance.”

Brook has organised an Easter raffle to help collect funds for the centre, while parents are also supporting him with sponsorship.

The death-defying leap will take place over the plains of Lincolnshire on July 16th this year.

Brook added: “This way I get to do two amazing things, raising money to enhance the life experiences of the children that I care for, as well as gaining a life experience I’ll never forget”.
