A HUDDERSFIELD college has asked Kirklees Council for permission to expand. Greenhead College wants to extend its common room to cope with rising student numbers. Planners will decide next month if the college can build an extension next to the existing common room. The college said that rising numbers of students had led to many having to stand because there was no room for additional seats in the common room. The extension would include a “curved glazed curtain wall” and a “large glass atrium to the roof”. Public consultation runs until January 9 with a decision expected by January 30.
