A VACANT Greetland mill could soon become housing.

Councillors on Calderdale’s planning committee will decide on Tuesday if Gate Head Mill should be turned into five houses.

The developer, N Walker, wants to redevelop the derelict mill and create gardens and parking for each property.

A smaller outbuilding would be converted to form a garage and cycle and storage space.

Eleven letters of objection were submitted to Calderdale Council with concerns about the impact on the bridleway, parking and traffic and problems.

Ward member Clr Peter Wardhaugh requested the application be decided by councillors on the planning committee. The council’s planning officers have recommend the plan for approval.
