A COMMUNITY is joining together on Sunday to raise cash for tsunami victims.
Muslim groups and other local organisations are to hold a sale at Birkby and Fartown Community centre.
Event co-ordinator Sadaf Alam said the aim was for the whole community to show a united front in the fund-raising effort.
"We have been overwhelmed by the support that has been shown by Kirklees Council, the Deighton Centre, Paddock School and local businesses and takeaways," she said.
The event includes a bric-a-brac sale with all proceeds going to the tsunami disaster.
A woman who has recently returned from relief work in Indonesia will also be on hand to give people information about the relief work.
There will be workshops for men and for women there will be role playing, and the recital of Arabian prayers.
The event starts at 12noon and will finish at 6pm.
