SIKH leader Inderpal Singh Randhawa, of Linthwaite, was a royal guest during the Queen's visit to West Yorkshire.

Mr Randhawa was among 80 guests invited to lunch with the Queen in Wakefield Town Hall after she distributed Maundy Money at Wakefield Cathedral.

Mr Randhawa, of Manchester Road, is president of the Sikh Leisure Centre in Springwood and a member of Huddersfield Interfaith Council.

"It was a fabulous day," he said.
