TWO guided walks coming up at Oakwell Hall Country Park in Birstall will explore the wildflowers and woodlands in the park.

Wildflowers of Summer on Sunday July 2 is being led by wildflower expert Richard Aspinall, head ranger, who will take visitors on a gentle stroll through the meadows to see the plants and flowers growing there.

On Sunday July 9, ranger Patrick Crowley will take visitors on a wander in the woods, identifying trees and giving tips on how to know an alder from an elder and a birch from a beech.

Both walks are from 2pm to 4pm and are free. However, advance booking is essential by contacting Oakwell Hall Country Park, Nutter Lane, phone 01924 326240.
