A SLAITHWAITE hairdresser is hoping to help a disabled Huddersfield youngster.

Julie Earnshaw, who runs The Salon in Slaithwaite, is behind a big charity ball at the Galpharm Stadium on Saturday.

And Julie hopes more than 200 guests will raise enough money to bring expert help for Thomas Holten.

Thomas, 16, of Cowlersley, suffers from cerebral palsy. Funds raised by his supporters will pay for a specialist nurse from the Peto Insititute in Budapest, Hungary, to fly over and spent several weeks helping him.

Julie said: “We have had a lot of help from friends and other businesses, who have donated great prizes for a raffle and an auction.

“There will also be music, a four-course meal and dancing and we hope it will be a great success.

“The girls who work in the salon have put in a lot of effort to make it a success.”
