A HAIR salon has raised more than £300 for the West Yorkshire Forget
Me Not Trust. Vanilla, on Wakefield Road at Aspley, organised events and special
offers throughout a charity day. Salon owner Jane Prentice said: "We sponsor Mandy Barwick, the
trust's fundraising manager, and we wanted to raise some more cash for this very worthwhile cause. "Every little helps."
Gift vouchers bought for cut and colours in January and February
raised cash for the trust. Money was also given to the charity as part of the price for
vouchers for the salon's Pod, a fat and cellulite reduction machine. Contemporary artist James Armitage, of Paddock-based Armitage
Modern, gave a painting which was auctioned. There were also raffles to raise cash.
The charity aims to build a children's hospice in this area.
