Bus passengers escaped injury after a terrifying crash in Halifax.
They were onboard a minibus when it careered on to the pavement outside Dino’s Cafe in Alexandria Street yesterday.
The bus demolished a litter bin but came to a stop inches from the cafe window.
Passer-by Laura Sykes, who took the photo, said: “I was just walking down the road and heard a screech of metal and then a series of screams.
“The bus was at a crazy angle against the front of the cafe. It was a good job no-one was sitting outside.”
The bus was owned by the Yorkshire Tiger company, which has depots in Huddersfield and in Elland. A spokesman said the accident was being investigated.
Dino Doymaz, owner of the cafe, said: “It was a crazy thing.
“It could have been so much worse and we are lucky no-one was hurt.
“I sometimes have tables outside the cafe and the bus could have hit someone who was coming in or going out of the cafe.
“I’m just glad no-one was hurt.”
West Yorkshire Police are investigating.
